PERSONALITY
Confident, extroverted, and refreshingly honest, Eji is a self-defined hero whose brashness is only tempered by his genuine warmth and energy. His lively presence draws people in, and while his self-assurance can be overwhelming at times, he means no harm until threatened. He's the guy who slaps the top of the doorframe when he enters a room, who engages the timid with a welcoming curiosity, and proudly meets the brazen where they are.

INTRO
A warm, outgoing, and cocky swordsman driven by impulse and a selfish desire to be remembered for good. After years of misdirection and loss at the whims of others, he became his own master and began embracing an indulgent and redemptive life of chasing whims and seeking thrills however they come. His brutally honest nature and refusal to take any route other than his own keeps him in constant motion as he travels and makes a name for himself, for better or worse.

EARLY LIFE
Eji was the oldest of six siblings, and grew up comfortably alongside them and their many cousins in the biting cold of the Skatay Range. He was a frequent helper in his mother's woodshop and loved to explore the taiga of his home turf. Though he often incited trouble, Eji was a wildly helpful and sociable kid; friend or family to anyone who needed it.Beginning in his twentieth spring, he spent a decade as a guardian of the wood— a highly involved, dedicated, very proud Wood Warder— but mostly by his own definitions. To leadership, he was an indignant instigator of unneeded curiosity and unrest. They sent Eji on a long courier mission across the mountains so that they could privately discuss what to do about him. Ultimately they determined that while useful at times, his intentions weren't in the right place, so he wasn't worth the continued risk. By the time Eji returns home, there's barely a home to boot him from. The death toll of the IVth Legion's airships seizing the surrounding lands was high but with the number of survivors likely scattered in the wind, he remains optimistic for reunion.

ADULTHOOD
He finds himself to be a loose pawn with no guide; fiercely loyal with allegiance to no one but himself. Drifting between adjacent towns as a lone outsider, he searches for comfort and purpose but finds deeper trouble still. At the skirts of Kugane, Eji saves a man's life and is repaid by the generosity of his father- a blacksmith, who lets him live in his attic and work as his apprentice. Wielding a sword, instructing others on self defense, and gathering clientele of all ages, he grows less inconspicuous and eventually catches the attention of the Kage Ei Bu; the black operations of the Sekiseigumi. They see the soldier he is trained to be, and feed him exactly what he wants- recognition, praise, purpose- in exchange for his mindless fealty. He works off an invisible debt until the tasks drive him to madness, and someone he loves dearly becomes a victim of the operation just beneath his nose. For too long does Eji make himself a liability to the operation in retaliation, until they put him out to pasture where they believe he'll never return; a unique job as a personal guard to a sensitive client in the Steppe.His charge is a gloomy auri heiress named  Tennyo , said to have difficulty protecting herself despite her bloodline's proclivity for offensive magic. Despite their many differences, their bond strengthens through mutual understanding and a respect they'd seldom found elsewhere, and eventually Eji takes her under his wing as they become an unlikely duo. It's not often that he ends up needing to protect her however, which he later learns is because he was hired more to protect others from her. When the truth behind her existence becomes Eji’s burden to bear, he cracks under the pressure and becomes the match that sparks the flame that leads to the destruction of her home. With few confidants besides each other, they travel together for several years despite the challenges, until Tennyo's underlying curse provokes her to hone herself in solitude.Before the fall of Dalamud, Eji is an armed caravan guard, escorting people and their goods across vast swaths of the globe, showing him the landscapes he had always dreamed of and providing him with room and board by the graciousness of his customers. In the aftermath, he meets an alluring time mage who eventually deigns him worthy enough to bond with, eternally.PRESENT DAY (DT)
Having happily settled into the role of a hero, Eji takes his commendations where they're due and is keen on using their newfound freedom to see the wider world. He still plays an active role in the Scions' stead and while he considers himself on vacation, he's rarely one to deny a bid for adventure.

These shifty and calculating eyes sometimes scan a room as if the hired sword never truly left the field. While retirement and a focus on more selfless work has been kind and fulfilling, it’s possible that his blades can be drawn again for the right price or purpose.

For RP purposes- he's a former member of the Scions, craftsman, sellsword, and sociable adventurer. I consider him rather malleable- his story is long and winding and I'm happy to let him travel down many different paths.003. I'm happy to chat about sexual dynamics, gpose NSFW, and RP some buildup but I'm not interested in ERP. Eji is open to both hookups and friends with benefits, but not another partner.004. Dark and mature themes are perfectly okay. This excludes racism, homophobia, or discrimination. If you’re unsure about a topic, feel free to ask ahead!005. As a fair warning, I’m very anxious and somewhat new to this kind of RP so my writing speed is pretty slow and I may not be aware of all etiquette!
